The project proposes an approach that uses processed probe-request log data collected through Wi-Fi networks for occupancy estimation and HVAC system control. We explored and compared occupancy-detection approaches, demonstrating that Wi-Fi-based methods meet HVAC control requirements.
Using real-world case studies, the team investigated Wi-Fi-based occupancy detection and prediction, and proposed an integrated framework for occupancy-based predictive HVAC optimization for future implementation.
