
Dr. Xidong (Alan) Pi earned his PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, where his research focused on infrastructure and transportation systems optimization with a background in data mining and machine learning applied to mobility data. He earned his Master's in Civil and Environmental Engineering from CMU in Spring 2015 and his Bachelor's degrees from Tsinghua University in 2010 (School of Environment, School of Economics and Management).
He is now an applied scientist at Amazon.
Research interests
Control theory, stochastic control, dynamic programming, approximate dynamic programming, convex and non-convex optimization, deep learning and reinforcement learning.
