The initiative develops modeling tools and end-user research integrated with computer-vision technologies for curb-management pilots in Santa Monica's Zero Emissions Delivery Zone (ZEDZ) and in Pittsburgh. The effort builds stakeholder relationships to inform project metrics, using pilot data to model system-wide impacts.
NREL applies the Mobility Energy Productivity (MEP) metric to assess outcomes, particularly in disadvantaged communities. The team plans to deploy approximately 200 cameras across Pittsburgh and Los Angeles locations.
