The Greenfield Bridge was scheduled to close for reconstruction in October 2015 for an 18-month period. This research examined how the closure would affect highway traffic, arterials traffic, emissions, and fuel consumption.

The project investigated behavioral responses including travel-demand shifts, departure-time changes, and route modifications. The team used data collection and simulation modeling to prepare Pittsburgh's public agencies for managing the infrastructure disruption and evaluated potential transportation management strategies.
